I spent most of the week with my sister and her husband in Dora where we did many things including making jerky and summer sausage from fresh venison. Even though I grew up in the Ozarks we never made summer sausage so that was a new experience for me.
On Saturday night of my visit we had a mini class reunion of the Dora High School class of 1970 where we only had a small group. A big thanks to Marsha Henry and Kathy Rigger for putting that together at Ryans Steak House in West Plains. We had a very special guest this year, Mr. Bennett our class sponsor for both our Junior and Senior years was there.
I didn't get to do everything that I wanted to do, or see everyone that I wanted to see but all in all it was a good week.
In the week before I went to Missouri I visited my daughter and her family in the Santee, SC area. I only was able to spend one day there but I enjoyed the visit very much. We visited the Indian Mounds and had an excellent lunch at a Mexican restaurant in Sumter. All in all it was an excellent trip.
